Herbert Brandl is an artist who's had a strong influence on quite a few of my pieces this year, with his works treading the border between abstract and figurative. His use of vibrant yet natural colours in his work really appeal to me, the most obvious connection between our work is seen above. The specks of fiery reds and oranges greatly reflected in the glowing fissures in my work, seeing that i didn't have to have masses of bright colour to be affective made me limit the amount of red present.
