Upon starting my 3rd and final year in university my outlook on art had changed dramatically. I had spent most of my life refining the detail with my paintings, trying to make them look more realistic. Even throughout my years in University, where experimentation is the order of the day, i refused to give up a incessant desire for detail. The realisation that i was throwing away all the time and money i had put in hit me just before my final year began. I started the year with the piece you see before you, a last 'hoorah' before i plunged into a new and exciting style.
